Now this is getting cooler. Pockets and snaps that are designed with listening to music in mind.
Ok. So this is a very open question. What do you want in a gadget blog? I feed some generic news as I see it (outside of my regular job). I have links to some cool gadgets. There is a iPod page for all things iPod and it’s laid out fairly simply, but I admit it could be cleaned up and organized better.
So what is it? Feeeeedddddd me!
This is an interesting story about technology that has been around for a while. The problem with presence technology is that no one seems to understand what “presence” is about. “I am therefore I can be found” is the premise behind presence. Back in the early 90’s, I could be found by putting in my schedule into Ameritech’s system so that my phone would follow me…work from 8-5, cell from 5p-6p, home from 6p-9p then straight to vmail until 6a. This worked fine until, I changed my schedule (I can be unpredictable at times).
Presence is about knowing where you are and what is best to reach you. If I’m online, I can be found. If I’m not, how do you find me? Well, apparently Tello is going to do that AND it will do it based on OPEN STANDARDS! Whooo-ahhhh!.
Read on…Say Hello to Tello
Now I’ve seen it all. Selling pixel based ads, selling pixel based ads with a chance at winning a lottery, selling organs (yea, real live ones) on ebay, and now robotic panhandling. Read on.
I’ve been researching some cool GPS gadgets and found some interesting stuff…
The bestselling ones are the Garmin Forerunners
The
Garmin Forerunner 301 has a heart rate monitor so that when you are running thru the woods to grandma’s house you won’t get lost and you won’t go over your target heart rate! Very cool!
This
Garmin Forerunner 201 is a simplified version (no heart rate monitor) and is cheaper than the 301. That is really the only difference.
The
Garmin eTrex Legend is by far the most popular handheld version. It’s low on memory ( you won’t be able to load EVERY detail in the US or UK), but you will be able to add most. Very affordable and is a workhorse.
The
TomTom Go 700 is bluetooth enabled. There are others that are not (Tom Tom is quite popular these days), but this one would connect to your PC and allow you to use a mapping program to plot your route in more detail.
Want a simple bluetooth enabled GPS??
The
Garmin GPS10 is a sensor only and will connect to a GPS bluetooth enabled receiver (like a Treo!).
Want some kick butt earphones? These beauties fit perfectly in anyone’s ears and booms out sound that is second to none.

/>Contrary to popular belief, the Engadget crew has not always possessed the gadget wonkiness that drives us to
work 18 hour days at CES. In fact, it was only a bite from a radioactive Aibo that endowed us with our super powers of
gadget recall and grating snarkiness. Before this life-changing encounter with the rabid robodog, we were only mere
mortals making ends meet in construction, plumbing, painting, and the like. The point of this rambling intro is that we
got pretty sick of carrying both a toolbox and a boombox to the job site everyday, and longed for the day when some
visionary manufacturer would ease the burden of our heavy load. Well even though it’s several years too late for us,
our dream of a combination toolbox-boombox has come to fruition, in the form of product we’re pretty sure is called the
Toolbox Player. While seemingly still in the prototype stage, this handyman’s best friend sports not only an AM/FM tuner
but an iPod dock as well, although it’s price and availability are still up in the air. Three cheers for convergence.
